And the Great British Care Award Goes to…

Carewatch Bath’s hard-working Care Manager Pam Dunn is recognised as the region’s best at prestigious black tie event

Carewatch Bath’s Care Manager Pam Dunn was recognised on Friday night for all of her tireless hard work, as she was named Best Home Care Registered Manager  at the Great British South West Care Awards.

The ceremony took place at the Passenger Shed venue in Bristol on the evening of Friday 4th November, and was hosted by TV personality Keith Chegwin. The gala black tie dinner was attended by hundreds of professionals from the South West’s care industry, including Pam’s colleagues and friends who turned out to support her.

The award presented to Pam Dunn recognises the home care manager who has shown the highest level of expertise in managing the complex business of providing support and care to people in their own homes.  Of the category’s four nominees, Pam was judged to be the best in the South West in 2011.

“I am very happy that I won the Registered Manager Award, which was a pleasant surprise!” said Pam. “It’s wonderful to be acknowledged for all that hard work, which not just  I but the whole team at Carewatch Bath have put in to enhancing our service over the last 18 months.”

Carewatch Bath currently provides 1,800 hours of care to the residents of Bath and North East Somerset and has over 90 employees. The company is a strategic partner of Bath and North East Somerset Council and recently won another contract with BANES, to provide Continuing Health Care and Re-ablement Care to residents in the area. Pam Dunn played a fundamental part in winning this contract.

“Pam has been such a breath of fresh air, nominating her for the award was an obvious choice,” said Caroline Burfield, Managing Director, Carewatch Bath. “Since she joined us in 2008, Pam has worked hard to implement changes that have helped us provide even better care in Bath and North East Somerset. This in turn has helped us to win new tenders with the local authority. I am immensely proud of Pam and the whole award ceremony was a night to remember.

Following her win, Pam is now a finalist in the same category for the National Great British Care Awards. The ceremony will take place in London in May or June 2012.
